Whether you’re renovating an old home or moving into a new house, you want to put your personal stamp on your environment by selecting beautiful paint colors to make your home unique to you. This year paint trends are moving toward nature and natural themed coloring and effect. You can choose a warm color scheme or a cool color scheme to reflect your personality and the tones that evoke the best atmosphere for you.

Warm Colors

These colors will be yellow based. Don’t fear! Your home won’t look like a mustered commercial or a school bus themed home. With warm colors, you can achieve a peaceful tone in your home. To find the right warm coloring for your home, consider the following.

Warm colors work with most lighting. Most homeowners are using halogen lighting which has a yellow undertone, unlike LED lighting which has a blue undertone. Yellow undertones will pair best with your warm paint colors. If you have dark furniture warm tones will accent the furniture. Even with heavy wooden or upholstered furniture in your home light colored, but warm, paint accents will help create a larger sense of space.

For warm colors, you want to find a great beige or neutral color that calm you and bring a relaxed vibe to your home. Warm colors pair well with warm based white. So, while you're trying to enlarge your space with a subtle white tone, you can add warm colors that tend to evoke a sense of comfort to your home while creating a sense of space. Use warm colors as accent walls, but be wary of covering all your wall space with neutral tones. It might make your living space seem smaller.

Cool colors

These colors will be blue based. With cool color look for blue, green or red tinted selections to accent your space. Different from warm colors these will enlarge your space. They will accentuate more active areas in your home. Use them in communal spaces like your kitchen, living room or game room.

Cool colors work well with LED lighting allowing you to save energy while creating a vibrant, active space in your home. Cool coloring also pairs well with the minimalist design. If you have a low profile and modern furniture, consider cool colored pairings in both paint and fabric accents in your home.

For any home, there are many color schemes. You don't have to follow trends, but it is advisable to consult your local paint professional and home décor advisor to select the best pairing for your home environut. You want to create the best and most habitable space for your lifestyle.
